SO WHAT IS ALL THE FUSS OVER A NAME? IT IS TRULY EMBARRASSING AS A CHRISTIAN to find so many folks fighting over what to call this holiday.
Well here is my humble thinking on it.
I receive a e-mail from my friend and fellow blogger Whit;
which I highly recommend for your reading pleasure.
I feel the real meaning has gone out of Christmas and Hunukka and the rest of them. The Retailers are the ones that are making this into a sales Holiday with everyone running to the store on
"BLACK FRIDAY" Sounds like something out of a
E.A.POE BOOK.
What ever happen to PEACE ON EARTH GOOD WILL TO MEN?
This was the prayer said to the three wise men so long ago.
As far as Jews are concern; let me clear this up for all us Christians,
Jesus was a JEW! What that can't be what are ya talking about DEAN?
Well the Bible says and I quote that he was called RABBI!
He taught in a Temple called it MY FATHERS HOUSE!
So before you begin yelling that you are right and everyone else is wrong that is not what the Lord said He said go ye out at teach all the world not just your little churches but all the lonely, the sick the poor the broken hearted Then shall we find the true meaning of this holiday that has lasted for more than 2000 years
Peace on earth and peace with you
if you are a so called Christian then read the place where the Lord went to the most hated person in town and ate supper!
You see it does not matter if your Christian or Jew or what ever
The whole meaning I believe this holiday stands for is PEACE ON EARTH GOOD WILL TOWARDS MAN! and what ever you might believe it is not the Large gift or how much you can spend but the joy and love that you might be able to spread to family and friends and maybe the lonely person living in the nursing home or the sick and dieing ing the local hospital or the Childrens ward spread Gods sunshine on all you can and this will be the best Holiday season ever!
This is my wish for you and all your families;
May you find the peace and joy of this season and if some one says;
say have a nice holiday...wish them the same
if some one says "happy Hunukka" Then greet them the same way!
If some one says Merry Christmas then say Merry Christmas right back at you!
you see no matter how we greet each other it all means the same in the end...PEACE ON EARTH GOOD WILL TOWARDS MEN"

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
Not Happy Holiday!

I do believe in Christmas but we must respect all Americans and their beliefs.
I do agree there is too much buy me this and get me that ratter than the real meaning of Christmas which is to show kindness to those that do not have any thing this year. The ones in Nursing homes without family; The mother in a shelter running from abuse, The old person forgotten by family and friends or w/o any
We are suppose to remember the birth of the child in a stable so long ago and the kings who gave gifts; but the little drummer boy who only could play on his drum is the real meaning.

You all must know me by now, for those who don't my name is man mountain dean I was a pro wrestler for over 35 years. The following is
my point of view and you have a right as American to disagree with it and you are welcome to voice it here.

The following is what I consider to be a grave error on the
part of Americans and I want to voice it here.
It seems the meeting of the Holiday of Christmas has lost it's meaning
I remember when the stores would wait till after Thanksgiving
for the start of the Christmas holiday
Now it seems they are starting it in JULY
It was bad enough that you had to live through this after Thanksgiving but now it seems that the stores are hacking their wares as early as July but Christmas trees are up in September! It makes me feel like saying BAAAAAAAAAHUM..BUG!

What is the real meaning of Christmas?
Well for Christians all over the world
it is the Birth of the Lord Jesus.

For the Jews it is the feast of Hanuaka


For the store owner it seems to me it is how much money I can
Make off the suckers

LET'S SEE THERE'S
BLACK FRIDAY
CYCBER MONDAY
TAKING THE CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS BECAUSE IT MIGHT OFFEND SOMEONE
REPLACE IT WITH X-MAS

I REMEMBER MAMA.....

When I was a child I remember mama dressing us up real warm and
we would go on a subway train to around 59 street to watch the
"Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade.
I remember the big floats and large figures floating by.
Then after we would walk along and look at the wonderful toys and
pretty windows and then we would go look at the big tree in Radio City ice ring. Some times as tall as a 5 story building filled with lights, bulbs, and all sorts of bows.
We would visit the central park zoo which was free.
where mom would give us the lunch sandwich she brought with her.
She would treat us all to a hot dog and drink later. Then it was homeward bound. She put all her coins away so she could give her
children that day in the city.
She would save all year so to give us one gift at Christmas time.
Sometimes she did not have enough to give us so we would receive
a hand made sweater or hat she would make with love. as kids we didn't understand why we didn't get the gifts other kids got but as I got older I understood cause I stood there in her shoes many many times.
The real meaning of this Christmas season is LOVE!
THE LOVE OF YOUR FAMILY THE GOOD FRIENDS YOU HAVE AND REMEMBERING ALL THE NICE THINGS THAT YOUR MOM AND DAD TRIED TO GET FOR YOU!
and so I say to you it is very nice to receive a gift
a NEW computer or toy but remember the ones who don't have, for this Holiday, the kids who are in shelters with their moms, the lonely ones
in Nursing homes, the shut-ins Who's family finds it better to stay away ratter than visit. the homeless child or adult.
Be thankful in your prayers for all that God has done for you.
For your family and good friends
For your health and health of your family
For your job and the money to meet your daily needs of your family.
Consider giving a gift of food to someone who needs it.
We have many folks who through no fault of their own are hungry tonight
AND IN ENDING THESE THOUGHTS MAY I WISH YOU ALL THE BLESSINGS OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON AND THE HAPPIEST NEW YEAR EVER.
